A Sense of People and Place

Sagent (formerly known as ProProse) began in Anne’s backyard with a 550-square-foot pool house as the dog-friendly HQ. Clients loved the natural light and outdoor meetings. Staff loved the fresh air, vegetable garden and walkable streets nearby. When the company grew, the challenge was to find a midtown Sacramento location with a similar vibe.

We sure found it. Built on one-third acre – including a big backyard – in 1903 by Edward P. Howe, Jr. as a single-family home, the building is listed in the National Historic Registry as significant for its colonial revival style with shingle-style features. The bright colors, charming decor and authentic details are as welcoming as the folks you’ll find there.

However, the pandemic forced our team to make one last pivot. Since March 2020, we have embraced the working from anywhere revolution! We transitioned into remote working, yet still found ways to stay connected with virtual happiness hours and collaborative zoom sessions. With restrictions lifting, we will continue to keep a flexible model allowing employees to choose to work at home or our Sagent office.
